About Trevor
I'm a writer, editor, proofreader and English teacher from Ireland. My qualifications
include a BA degree in English and an MA in Writing. My work has been
published in journals across Ireland, Scotland, England, Austria, Mexico and the US.
My writing work pertains to business websites and brochures, tender writing,
public speaking and various non-academic texts. The message you wish to
convey, and how you convey it, are essential to the success of any enterprise. I aim to
place this message foremost in the reader's mind.
I teach English as a foreign language, giving classes in person and online. Each class follows a set structure unless the student wishes to focus on specific elements. (See the English Classes page for more details.)
I also proofread, format and provide general comments on essays, theses and various other assignments. I deal with a wide variety of subjects, such as the following: business; management; science; microbiology; architecture; archaeology; engineering; history; fine art; philosophy; English literature; medicine; nutrition; geography; education; nursing; law; and many more.
My academic work involves fixing mistakes in spelling, grammar, punctuation, formatting and referencing to ensure that your text is clear and professional. (There’s nothing worse than a marker becoming frustrated by having to read a sentence two or more times in order to understand its meaning.) Apart from the actual paper, I will prepare a document of general comments on your work. These are useful both for the present paper and for your future writing.
Please note that I do not write papers for students. That is each student's responsibility.
Please give me as much notice as possible about new work.
If your work is urgent, please attach it to your first email.
Evidence of Freewheeling
In November 2015, my first collection of poems was published by Salmon Poetry, called Evidence of Freewheeling. It's a collection of poems on various subjects (including sport, nature, language, creativity/writing, death and more). If you're interested in checking it out, the book is available here.
